Welcome to ADHD Coaching for Students

As someone with ADHD who has navigated academia, I intimately understand the challenges involved. Picture the kid at the back of the class, unable to sit still, forgetting to raise her hand. That was me—the one with a backpack stuffed with loose papers, racing to complete assignments the night before they were due. I lived moment to moment, rarely considering long-term consequences, struggling to find my place in a world that neither understood nor embraced my unique hardwiring.

Now, I'm an ADHD coach specializing in supporting students--like me, like my son, like so many others--who don't fit the mold. Using an approach that blends education, appreciation, and empathy, I not only help them better understand their own unique hardwiring but also help them develop personalized, strengths-based strategies for success. Here are some possible topics we might explore in our pursuit of this goal:

  • Self-Regulation: Managing behavior and emotions in and out of the classroom.

  • Time Management: Overcoming time blindness, learning how to track and budget time effectively.

  • Focus Enhancement: Exploring strategies to boost concentration and reduce distractibility.

  • Energy Outlet: Finding healthy outlets for excess energy and hyperactivity.

  • Impulse Control: Inhibiting blurting out and learning to think before speaking or acting.

  • Responsibility: Cultivating accountability and taking ownership of actions.

  • Organization: Organizing everything from belongings to notes to papers and projects.

  • Future Thinking: Developing the ability to foresee and plan for future tasks and events.

  • Task Management: Initiating and completing assignments efficiently.

  • Freeze Management: Identifying ways to cope with ADHD paralysis.

  • Learning Styles: Discovering natural processing modalities to optimize information absorption.

  • Strengths: Uncovering hidden strengths--both those related to ADHD and those unique to each student.

But this journey is about more than addressing their immediate challenges. It's also about encouraging them to embrace a growth mindset so that they begin to see challenges as opportunities, problems as possibilities, and setbacks as motivators. So, if you are ready to empower your student to thrive, schedule a free consultation call today!
